Mock up packaging ideas:

All the packaging is done in the same way.. just different measurements.. above would be for mascara.. the idea is that when it opens.. its like a flower..

I think I could play with the tabs a bit to make it more flower like.. or maybe add other tabs somehow..

This would be packaging for lipstick.. just a smaller version of the mascara box..

Box for blusher.. slightly smaller but has more depth than the compact powder packaging.. which I think I will change.. I like the depth in the boxes.. to keep them looking quite similar..

  • Flower looking
  • Pattern and colour.. will it be changed/effected.. think more into it..

Been fiddling around trying to make the packaging look too much like a flower, and I feel I'm wasting my time.. I have decided I want to make it simple, but look interesting.. and I think I have come up with a nice packaging.. that also reflects a flower type shape..

Identity..

I didn't like the typeface used previously.. I don't think it worked with the product as well.. however, I came across parmapetit.. and I really like how it works with the word 'fresh'..
This logo idea could be transferred onto stickers.. and onto promotional material easily..
need to look at colour variations.. I have chosen the black/white/cream because thats the colour of the packaging..

Don't mind this colour way.. 'cosmetics' would be harder to read.. but is it necessary??

HATE HATE HATE.. basically.. Not keen on the white background at all..

Can't see the 'fresh' white on yellow.. so not working at all..

Business card has the same pattern running through as the packaging.. ?? Would potentially change when the pattern on the packaging changes..

The cream will be the colour of the card I am going to use.. so the texture will need to be looked into.. as I want it to be an expensive looking business card..

Letter head and complimentary slip idea.. I would like to play around with the layout a bit more.. but some kinda initial idea..

I quite liked it up to the point where I added the telephone number and email address.. I think there is far too much going on down at the bottom.. maybe look at placing the information up the sides??

I think that the writing up the sides works much better.. change the colour to the yellow.. so it doesn't stand out so much..

Moved the 'with compliments..' down..

Sticker would be seen on the belly band.. not sure where like.. but the obvious ways..

Packaging

Using pattern for the overall packaging.. not keen on how it looks overall.. I think it needs to be a bit more simplified..
Below.. looked at using goldleaf for lines on the box.. but didnt work too well.. going to look at using it for 'fresh cosmetics' instead.. maybe..

Didn't like the black and gold that much.. so I have re-done the packaging, with black lines, with some goldleaf on some parts..

I think the goldleaf is really effective, and I think I definitely would like to use it more.. however.. its WELL expensive.. so foil may have to be used instead..

Didn't work well with the type.. and I'm really not sure about the typeface now.. need to look at it again I think..

More business cards/letterheads..

I quite like the cyan/magenta combo.. looks fresh.. however.. does it relate to my audience of 18-24.. not sure if it looks a bit childish like??

Playing with the pattern a bit more..

How would it translate onto packaging..

Mock ups of the initial packaging.. this will be the same throughout the packaging.. just change in shape.. hopefully if it all works out..

I intend on designing the 'gift wrap' - using patterns and the information will be on the belly band.. it could be like a limited edition, as it is quite complex..

Business card designs:

Quite simple initial idea.. does it need any more??

Haaaate this.. Don't like all the pink.. I would like to make sure the card is good quality material instead of having a bright colour..

I like how 'cosmetics' doesn't sit straight under 'fresh'.. I think it looks better to the eye..

Some poster designs..

I want to keep looking into pattern and colour.. I want to keep it simple..
I think this would look nice as a screen print.. maybe try to get booked into do it.. I think if the print wasn't exactly marked up right, it would look really interesting..

Pattern design:

[IMAGES OF HAND DRAWN INITIAL PATTERNS]

I have come up with some basic flower patterns in illustrator.. Now to create the pattern.. will look into colour later on.. but because the petals overlay other petals.. the colours will change quite a lot I think..

Need to experiment with colour a bit more.. but just to get an idea..

Background colour..

Really bright.. reflects the fun/colourful side I wanted to portray.. but is it too young??
Need to look at how I want to lay out the pattern on the packaging..

Some colour ideas..
- need to experiment with the weight of line on the pattern, to make it look a bit more interesting..
- need to say what it is inside the packaging.. eyeshadow/powder..
- how will colour show different cosmetic.. or pattern..

Front - Side - Back - Side

The pattern will be able to be transferred onto bags/promotional stuff/signage..
- Look at one flower and how that tessellates..
Shape of pattern reflects what it is inside.. above eg. compact powder, shade is shown with name: ivory..

Don't like 'belle' at all.. FRESH!!

Simple pattern at the bottom looks better than using 3 images..
